As darkness falls, a mysterious Ghost Ship appears in the harbour, bringing with it unanswered questions, eerie encounters and tales from the past.
This Halloween on 30th and 31st October, experience Spooquay: Ghost Ship – an immersive after-hours adventure that transforms HMS Trincomalee and the surrounding quayside into a haunting world of theatrical storytelling, ghostly encounters and Halloween thrills.
Guided by mysterious characters brought to life by performers from the Northern School of Art, you'll journey through the Historic Quay before stepping aboard Britain's oldest floating warship. As you explore the ship's decks and hidden spaces, uncover chilling tales from its past and come face-to-face with the spirits said to still linger within.
Your ticket also includes access to the wider Halloween celebrations across Hartlepool Historic Quay. Wander the quayside after dark, witness dramatic live cannon firings, explore selected museum galleries by night and enjoy seasonal food and drink from the café and bar.
Whether you're looking for a memorable family evening or a Halloween experience with a few extra scares, there's a Ghost Ship sailing for you. Earlier departures offer a family-friendly adventure filled with mystery and atmosphere, while later sailings deliver darker themes, heightened suspense and unexpected jump scares for those brave enough to step aboard.

Children of all ages are welcome. Earlier timed experiences are designed to be family-friendly, focusing on storytelling and Halloween atmosphere. Later departures include darker themes, increased suspense and occasional jump scares, making them more suitable for older children and adults. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout their visit.
