Power Up! Family Engineering Adventures

Join us this summer for hands-on fun for all the family with Amazelab's exciting STEM workshops, where curious minds can discover the science, engineering and innovation behind the Royal Navy!

What does power really mean? Is it the force that drives a ship through the waves, the energy hidden in the tides, or the ingenuity of the people who invent new technologies? Families are invited to explore all these ideas through engaging, hands-on activities inspired by the Royal Navy's remarkable history of engineering and innovation.

Each drop-in session gives visitors the chance to think like scientists, engineers and inventors. Families can build, test and improve their own creations while investigating forces, motion, renewable energy and design through exciting STEM challenges. Along the way they'll discover how the Royal Navy has continually embraced new ideas - from harnessing the power of the wind in the Age of Sail to developing advanced propulsion systems and exploring more sustainable technologies for the future.

Designed for curious minds of all ages, every activity encourages creativity, experimentation and teamwork. Friendly facilitators guide visitors through each challenge while celebrating that making mistakes, asking questions and trying again are all part of great engineering.

Whether you're designing a propeller, harnessing tidal power or simply discovering how things work, these workshops will leave families inspired by the science that powers ships, protects our seas and shapes tomorrow's maritime world.
