Join us aboard HMS Trincomalee for a weekend of sea shanties, maritime music and storytelling! These welcoming family friendly drop-in sessions are suitable for all ages and offer the chance to discover the songs, stories and traditions that accompanied sailors through work, adventure and life at sea.
Join us on the Saturday for Find Your Navy Sea Legs and discover the songs and stories of the Royal Navy. Learn how sailors used music to build camaraderie, boost morale and mark important moments during life at sea, while joining in with traditional naval songs and choruses.
On the Sunday, step into the Elizabethan age with Sir Francis Drake "El Draco" - The Queen's Favourite Pirate. Through song and storytelling, explore the voyages, adventures and enduring legacy of one of England's most famous seafarers.
No previous singing experience is needed - just bring your voice and a sense of adventure! Sessions with The Auckland Shanty Singers take place from 11:30am 'till 12:50pm and 2:00pm 'till 2:50pm on 3 and 4 July and are included with your annual museum ticket!
